Arsene Wenger has aimed a dig at Diego Costa’s situation at Chelsea when defending Alexis Sanchez’s strop during Arsenal’s latest victory.
Last week, Chelsea’s leading scorer was involved in a bust-up with Antonio Conte and his medical team over a back injury and subsequently missed Saturday’s 3-0 victory over Leicester City.
Arsenal, meanwhile, kept pace with the Premier League leaders with a 4-0 win away at Swansea City, but Sanchez stole the headlines after he threw a strop on the bench when he was replaced late on in the game.
But Wenger insists he is unconcerned by the Chilean’s reaction to being substituted.
‘I’d rather have someone who always wants to be involved than someone who doesn’t want to play.
‘I have enough problems – I don’t need a Costa problem on top of that.
‘Alexis is a guy who wants to fight everywhere, sometimes where he shouldn’t. But that is a part of his game. All my players want to play for every minute but for me this is not a story.’
