Chelsea transfer target Riechedly Bazoer leaving Ajax, manager confirms

Arsenal and Chelsea have been handed a big chance of signing Ajax midfielder Riechedly Bazoer in the January transfer window after his manager confirmed he was likely to be sold.

The 20-year-old has long been regarded as one of the best prospects in European football, but has found himself out of favour at the Amsterdam Arena this season.

Bazoer has been linked with Arsenal, Chelsea and other big clubs in recent times, and Ajax boss Peter Bosz has now admitted he sees the player’s immediate future away from the club.

‘After talks with Riechedly I assume there is a big chance that he is not with this team any more after the winter break,’ Bosz told Ajax’s official site.

Both Arsenal and Chelsea look in need of reinforcements in midfield this January, with the latter likely to sell Cesc Fabregas and the former losing Santi Cazorla to a long-term injury.

Still, given Bazoer’s dip in form with Ajax this season it remains to be seen if a big club will rush to take a gamble on him at this time.
