The Parramatta Eels have broken their silence on the Cooper Cronk drama, stating that they are not interested in the star Half-Back.
Eels CEO Bernie Gurr told The Daily Telegraph on Tuesday morning that “We’re not in the race for Cooper Cronk,”.
“We assess every player that comes onto the open market, to see whether they fit our club, fit our salary cap and fit our positional needs.
“When we looked at our roster and our positional needs we have opted to go in another direction.”
Gurr said the Eels were never really in “serious discussions” about signing Cronk.
The news comes off the back of Eels legend and Triple M commentator Peter Sterlingtelling the Dead Set Legends that he didn’t want to see Cronk join the Eels.
