NBA players are some of the greatest athletes on the planet, but how does a seven-footer go trying to kick a footy?
Not well, the Bombers found out when they visited the Washington Wizards this week.
The Bombers showed NBA players like Marcin Gortat and Kelly Oubre Jr. the finer points of our great game.
The Polish Hammer got into the spirit of it by donning his 6’11” frame in the sash.
“It’s very similar to rugby, but still not the same, very, very bloody and physical sport,” Gortat said of Aussie Rules.
“I have full respect for what they do. You really need to have a passion to do that sport.”

Second-year wing Kelly Oubre Jr didn’t mince words when speaking about his own abilities with the footy.
“I was trash,” Oubre Jr said.
“It’s pretty dope, had a good time. Those guys go out and play their hearts out, they play on a 200 yard field, which is crazy, no pads, straight killing people and knocking people out.”

Wizards coach Scott Brooks said the footy was “awkward” for his players.
“You can tell our guys have been playing with the round ball all their lives, it was very awkward and it should be,” Brooks said.
“The crazy thing is, they don’t play with pads or a helmet.
“It was fun the guys enjoyed it, guys love it.
“I give them credit.”
