Arsenal are the favourites to land Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone as long-term boss Arsene Wenger’s replacement.
But reports in Italy say Inter Milan are ready to splash the cash to bring their former player back to the San Siro.
Corriere dello Sport say Inter owner Erick Thohir has twice unsucessfully attempted to lure Simeone to Italy in recent months but is still hopeful of securing his return.
It is claimed Simeone’s preferred destination when he leaves Atletico is Inter, but it remains to be seen when he will depart the Spanish club.
He recently reduced his contract with Atletico and it is now set to expire in 2018.
And it was the Frenchman who had the last laugh with Olivier Giroud snatching a late equaliser their play all afternoon scarcely deserved.
