WESTERN Bulldogs favourite Marcus Bontempelli believes good health should not be a juggling act.
The star midfielder, who was recently appointed an ambassador for Melrose foods, the official health foods partner of the Bulldogs, said balance and consistency were the key to success both on and off the field.
“The balance is incredibly important,” Bontempelli said.
“Living a healthy lifestyle is something anyone can do. It is about making good choices, thinking ahead and in terms of diet, using good products.”
Bontempelli said he was prepared for the level of scrutiny and expectation to rise this season following the Bulldogs’ premiership victory last year.
“I think we all understood the pressure was going to go up, the standards were going to rise, not just from outside the football club but internally as well,” he said.
“It is all about consistency. Despite the differences in weeks and what changes day to day, it is being able to maintain the consistent habits, your recovery work, your diet, and the little training extras that you do, that keeps you ahead of the curve ball.”
Bontempelli said it was important for the team to keep focused and listen to the most important voices which are the ones inside the club, the coaching staff and players.
